Who We Are
Mountain Country Foods – Oklahoma has been proudly serving the pet industry since 2000. Founded by Matt Dixon and Doug Ford, the company was born out of a simple but powerful vision, to meet the growing need for high-quality, reliable, and innovative pet treat manufacturing in the heart of the U.S.
Located in Okeene, Oklahoma, Matt’s hometown, our facility is strategically positioned near a local wheat mill, allowing us to source fresh, local grain and support our community. From the beginning, Doug, Matt and his wife Rae poured their passion and dedication into building a facility that combined creativity, reliability, and quality.
Today, we’re proud to celebrate 25 years of success in pet treat manufacturing. We work with globally recognized brands and produce millions of baked dog treats, baked kibble, and other animal treats each year.
At Mountain Country Foods – Oklahoma, our mission remains the same, to create wholesome, safe, and innovative treats that pets love and our partner’s trust.
We offer a variety of manufacturing options of pet treats, but not limited to the following: Crunchy , Soft & Chewy, Sausage Style, Jerky-Like, Baked Kibble, & Horse Treats.

Flexible Packaging Solutions
Our packaging operation is equipped with eight packaging lines. Within that, we have sixteen various packaging options, allowing us to package products in many different formats, sizes, and materials. Each line is designed to be flexible, making it easy to switch between packaging types while keeping production running smoothly. Packaging, sealing, labeling, and coding are all handled in-line to ensure every product is accurate, consistent, and clearly identified. This setup allows us to efficiently handle both small and large production runs while delivering high-quality, well-presented finished products.
Research and Development
Our Research and Development team operates a dedicated R&D lab where new product ideas are created, explored, and tested from the earliest stages of ideation. The team works closely with partners to develop new concepts, improve existing products, and even explore cost-saving opportunities through formulation and process adjustments. This hands-on approach allows us to refine ideas and enhancements before moving them into production, ensuring products are ready to scale within our manufacturing operation.
Quality & Food Safety
Mountain Country Foods upholds an unwavering commitment to quality, driven by an experienced Quality Assurance (QA) team and supported by a sophisticated in-house chemical laboratory. We are proud to hold the SQF (Safe Quality Food) certification with an "Excellent" rating, demonstrating adherence to the highest global food safety standards.
Our robust HACCP-based food safety programs ensure proactive control across all production stages. Additionally, Mountain Country Foods is APHIS–PFO certified (Plant Number: UT-PFO-001), ensuring compliance for pet food manufacturing and export.
